I will admit right up front I avoided yard sales like the plague in the past I can count on one hand how many
times I have went to one. So you may wonder why I made a vacation around the longest yard sale in America.
First off I wanted to go somewhere that was different and after watching a program on Treasure Seekers
HDTV it got me interested. So I made reservation for one night in Harriman Tennessee and one night in
Danville Kentucky I was surprised that the rooms were being to get booked as early as February for the
August sale.

A tour of Alvin's home and General store. Visiting his home was well worth the trip. He was the most decorated soldier in

We made another trip to the Highway 127 Yard Sale. We seen the same hordes of treasure seekers but we
thought they weren't as many professional vendors. The weather this year was perfect. We weren't rained on
and the temperature was in the middle 80's Friday and Saturday. My wife buys her stuff and I enjoy just watching
the variety of people. We bought three baskets from a lady from Kenya that imports them from her friends
